Abstract

One of the causes of low learning outcomes is the lack of appropriate use of
learning methods that are appropriate to the material being taught, therefore it is
necessary to apply learning methods that are adapted to the material being taught
so that the learning outcomes carried out get maximum results, one of which is by
using the demonstration method. as a teaching method in vocational schools. The
aim of this research is to determine the differences in student learning outcomes
between the experimental class and the control class after learning was carried
out using the demonstration method for learning expressive painting at SMK
Negeri 9 Medan. The population in this study were all class Data collection in this
research used practical tests, observation and documentation. Based on the
research results, it was concluded that there was a significant influence of the
application of the Demonstration Method on the expressive painting learning
outcomes of class X students at SMK Negeri 9 Medan. This result is indicated by
the t test value from the experimental class, it is obtained that thit = 10.23, the
price of ttab with dk = 62 with a real level of 0.05, it is obtained that ttab = 1.9989
with a result of 10.23 > 1.9989. From these results, it shows that there has been a
significant change through the results of the hypothesis test (t-test). ) with an
increase in the percentage of expressive painting learning results using the
demonstration method of 31% and also the average posttest score for the
experimental class was 80.93, while in the control class it was 70.96, where the
average Posttest (experiment) ≥ Posttest (control) this shows that there is
increased learning outcomes in treatment using demonstration learning methods
compared to conventional methods.
