Abstract
This study aimed to analyze students' perception of YouTube "Dongeng Kita" in
reading narrative text at grade X SMA Negeri 1 Torgamba. This research was
conducted using Mixed-Method Research. The data were obtained through
questionnaires and interviews. Students on grade X IPA 1 at SMA Negeri 1
Torgamba were the source of data to answer 20 of the questionnaires related to
two indicators based on Robbins (2002), namely positive and negative
perceptions. Then, to support the data from the questionnaires, 10 students
answered 5 questions from the interview, and the questions also related to the
students‟ perception. The result of this research showed that the students agreed
that using "Dongeng Kita" YouTube videos in reading helps them understand
English vocabulary. The students also agreed that "Dongeng Kita" YouTube
videos help them understand the narrative text material delivered by the teacher,
and the students added that they feel easier to understand narrative text material
when learning by using "Dongeng Kita" YouTube videos. Moreover, they felt
more interested in learning the subject and didn't get bored during the lesson. So,
it can be concluded that students at grade X SMA Negeri 1 Torgamba have
positive perceptions of YouTube "Dongeng Kita" in reading narrative text.
