Abstract
This study deals with the development of Interactive Multimedia in Reading Comprehension Text of Grade XI at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Binjai which has the purpose to develop learning media to be interacrtive multimedia for teaching reading comprehension text. Addition to it, the Microsoft PowerPoint has chosen as the media which developed in learning media. The subject of this research was in the class of grade XI-IA2 students. Research and Development is used as the research method. The instrument of collecting data was collected by using questionnaires and interviews. In this study, the data was analyzed in descriptive
qualitative technique. Then, the product in developing interactive multimedia consist of the screen page qulity and instructional material quality which was converted to video slide presentation. Therefore, it has been validated by experts validations. Furthermore, the result of the final product of interactive multimedia from the experts judgement validation toward the screen page quality got 4,78 and for the instructional material got 4,50. Then, both of them were categorized as “very good” based on the highest interval of numerical scale which was 5th scale and the percentage of it got 81% ≤ X ≤ 100%. It meant that the developed media in interactive multimedia was appropriate, attractive, and capable to fulfill the characteristics of good multimedia. Automatically, it can be used for the XI grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Binjai as learning multimedia in English teaching-learning activitiy in the classroom
