Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengembangkan bahan ajar Big Book berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), dan 2) mengetahui kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan bahan ajar Big Book berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL berdasarkan penilaian peserta didik pada uji coba kelompok kecil dan peserta didik pada uji coba lapangan, ahli materi, penilaian ahli media, penilaian praktisi, dan penilaian keefektifan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) yang mengadaptasi model pengembangan ADDIE. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik SD Negeri 028068 Binjai Timur, ahli materi, ahli media, guru Bahasa Inggris, dan objek penelitian adalah pengembangan bahan ajar Big Book berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian menggunakan kuesioner skala 4 dengan analisis data yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan bahan ajar Big Book berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL)) adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan persentase. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian 1) bahan ajar Big Book berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dengan Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation dan Evaluation (ADDIE) dan 2) hasil kelayakan ahli materi termasuk kategori Sangat Baik dan Sangat Layak (88%), ahli media termasuk kategori Sangat Baik dan Sangat Layak (87%), guru Bahasa Inggris termasuk kategori Baik dan Sangat Layak (92%). Demikian pula dengan uji efektifitas produk terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan bahan ajar Big Book berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) yang dapat disimpulkan berdasarkan pada hasil post-test peserta didik pada tahap evaluasi persentase ketuntasan klasikal dari 23 dari 27 siswa yaitu 85,15% dan dinyatakan tuntas.
