Abstract

The low level of improvement in class learning outcomes. The type of research used is quantitative using a Quasi-Experimental research method with a Nonequivalent control group design (pretest-posttest). This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 5 Medan Class XI Building Modeling and Information Design Skills Program. The subjects in this research were class XI DPIB 1, totaling 32 students and class XI DPIB 1, totaling 32 students. Based on the analysis of the Independent Sample t-test, the average learning outcomes between the experimental class (pretest) (M = 21.84 ± 4.221) and the control class (pretest) (M = 21.09 ± 4.428) with a p-value of 0.477> 0.05 and t-value 0.716 < from t-table (1.669). The research results show that there is no difference in learning outcomes in construction and building utility subjects. With the same analysis, the average learning outcomes (posttest) of the experimental group (M 30.72 ± 4.609) were much higher than the average learning outcomes (posttest) of the control class (M 24.69 ± 3.376) with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05 and the t-count value is 6.149 from the t-table (1.669). These results indicate that there is a significant difference in student learning outcomes in the Construction and Building Utilities subjects between the posttest experimental class and the posttest control class. So the conclusion from the results of the Ha hypothesis test is accepted. Teachers need to give consideration to learning methods in Building Construction and Utility subjects. It is hoped that the results of this research will be useful for teachers, students and schools in improving learning outcomes in Building Construction and Utilities subjects and other subjects.
