Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Science Technology
Society model on thematic learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Negeri
016549 Sijabut Penggalangan. The type of research used is pre-experimental or
pre-experimental designs. The research design used was a one group pretestposttest
design. The research method used is a quantitative research method. The
population in this study were 34 fifth grade students. Data collection techniques in
this study were tests and observations. The data analysis technique in this research
is using validity test, reliability test, normality test, multicorrelation test,
heteroscedasticity test, and paired sample t test hypothesis testing. The results of
the study based on the results of data analysis on learning outcomes in pretest and
posttest activities showed that there was an increase in the average score obtained
by students after receiving the treatment of the Science Technology Society
learning model. This can be known. The results of the descriptive analysis showed
that the average thematic learning outcomes of students before being taught with
the Social Technology Science model was 56 and the average thematic learning
outcomes of students after being taught with the Science Technology Society
model had increased to 72,82. The results of the paired sample t test show the
results of Sig. of 0.000 which means < 0.05, it can be concluded that there is a
significant difference between learning outcomes in the pre-test and post-test. This
shows that the model used during learning can improve student learning outcomes
because the results show a significant difference between the results before and
after being given the treatment of the Science Technology Society model. Thus, it
can be said that the Science Technology Society model has a significant effect on
increasing thematic learning outcomes for fifth grade students at SD Negeri
016549 Sijabut Penggalangan.
