Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh model pembelajaran SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan quasi eksperimental design sebagai metode penelitan dan Two group pre-test post-test sebagai desain instrumen. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP N 5 Percut Sei Tuan, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling, menjadikan siswa kelas VII3 dan VII4 sebagai sampel dari penelitian ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini (thitung = 4,22 > ttabel (n = 30) untuk taraf signifikan 0,01 = 2,66) menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang sangat signifikan pada pemberian model pembelajaran SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi pemanasan global di kelas VII SMP N 5 Percut Sei Tuan.
