Abstract
The purpose of this research was to know the student’s learning outcomes
using Guided Inquiry Learning Model on Harmonic Vibraton Topic in class X
SMA Negeri 1 Tebing Tinggi. The type of this research is quasi-experimental
which using pre-test and post-test. The population is all of student of class X
SMA Negeri 1 Tebing Tinggi Academic Year 2017/2018, consist of 7 classes.
The sample of research was taken 2 classes determined by cluster random
sampling technique. The sample of this research were students of class X-6 that
consists of 35 students as experiment class and X-5 that consist of 35 students as
control class. The objects of this research is student’s learning outcomes
Based on the data that got the average score of pretest in experimental
class is 24,71 and the average score of pretest in control class is 21,92, in
normality test of experimental class of pretest that get Lcount<Ltable
(0,1225<0,1498), whereas in control class Lcount<Ltable (0,1206< 0,1498) , so that
both of classes are normal distributed. In homogeny test of pretest of both samples
there is Fcount<Ftable (1,321< 1,705) then both of data pretest are homogeneous
samples. After giving treatment in both samples, experimental class is taught by
guided inquiry learning model and control class is taught by conventional learning
that get the result of average score in experimental class is 76,28 and average
score in control class is 65,71.
The result of one party t-test of post-test that get tcount>ttable that is
5,267>1,66, thus there is the significant effect of guided inquiry learning model
on student’s learning outcomes.
