Abstract
This research deals with Indonesian developmental stages of three and five years old English speaking child. The objectives of the research were to know in what developmental stage is the acquisition of Indonesian by the three and five years old English speaking child and why they used Indonesian the way they do . This research conducted qualitative method. The data were obtained from the observation and interview. The data collected were analyzed by applying interactive model of Miles and Hubarman. The location of this research was in Australia. The subjects were a three and a five years old English speaking child that lived in Australia. The result of this research was the personality factor and environment exposure affect only the amount of language acquisition but not affect the stage order of the acquisition. The developmental stages bahasa Indonesia can be effective when the three years old English speaking child competence matches to the Indonesian developmental stages of bilingual in the bilingual communicative stage. The data analysis showed that the five years old child was in the three stages of Indonesian developmental stages and the three years old was in the first and the second stage of the Indonesian developmental stages, and the personality factor and environment exposure can affect the interaction of the three and five years old English speaking child to the language that they acquired.
