Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation (GI) terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok Teori Kinetik Gas kelas XI semester II SMA Negeri 18 Medan T.P. 2016/2017. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain two group Pre-test dan Pos-test. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 18 Medan terdiri dari 4 kelas. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 2 kelas yang diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling yaitu XI MIPA-2 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 27 orang yang diberikan perlakuan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation dan kelas XI MIPA-3 sebagai kelas kontrol berjumlah 24 orang yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa essay test sebanyak 8 soal. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji kesamaan rata-rata (uji t). Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe group investigation terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok Teori Kinetik Gas di kelas XI semester II SMA Negeri 18 Medan T.P. 2016/2017.
