Representation Of Women Roles In StateSecurity In The 355 Movie

The role of women as state security is very influential on the success of the mission,
as well as the role of women in social construction in society which also results in
women having "rights" in the mission of humanism. This study was conducted by
applying descriptive qualitative method. The objectives were the types and
representation of women's roles in state security through "The 355" movie. The
theory used Bouta & Ferks type of women's role. The findings showed that 5 types
of the women's roles and characteristics of women’s roles on the phase during
armed conflict related to gender equality in the movie namely: women as
combatants, women as peace activists, women in formal peace politics, women as
coping and surviving actors, and women as household heads. In conclusion their
efforts to fight against rules and injustice are represented by the five main characters
described as brave, intelligent, stubborn, strong-willed, and sensitive women.
