Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the kinds of strategies used by teacher
in teaching writing recount text at Grade 10 Students at SMAN 11 Medan. The
research of this study used a qualitative descriptive method. The data of this study
were taken from the transcription of video recordings from the English teacher
when teaching in the class. The data was collected through observation, and
interview. it was analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014)
framework. In this study, it was covered that the teacher used TAD (Transition-
Action-Details) Strategy when teaching writing recount text and he used all the
stages of the TAD indicators. As a results, the findings of this study indicated that
the teacher used TAD Strategy and implemented all of the indicators in
accordance with theory. TAD strategy was easy to implemented and efficiently
help the students to organazing their writing.
