Abstract

The aims of this study is to develop kahoot! as a students' worksheet in teaching reading comprehension of descriptive text at SMPN 7 Medan. This research was conducted by using research and development (R & D) in order to develop
students' worksheets using kahoot! which is a game based application by sharing questionnaires and conducting interviews. This research would be undertaken through the use of research Borg and Gall, Research and Development technique which consists of six stages; collecting information and data, analyzing data,designing materials, validating by experts, revising materials, and the last was
final product. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires by interviewing 23 students and an English teacher to see the needs of students. study
conclusions led to the development of Kahoot! platform, which can be used as worksheets for students to practice reading comprehension of descriptive texts.study conclusions resulted to the development of Kahoot! platform, which can be used as worksheets for students to practice reading comprehension of descriptive texts. There are four aspects that are assessed fo the feasibility test of student worksheet by experts: content aspect, presentation aspect, language aspect, and layout aspect. In terms of percentage, the average expert validation score is 90% content aspect, 92% presentation aspect, 96% language aspect, and 100% layout.The average value of the worksheet is 94.5% which is categorized as very good and is recommended for use in English classes, especially for reading eighth grade
descriptive texts.
