Abstract

This study aimed to describe the students' vocabulary achievements when taught using the YouTube and the TikTok applications, and to show YouTube and TikTok affect significantly different on the students’ vocabulary achievement. It was conducted as experimental research with a quantitative approach. The sample was taken from 80 students randomly. They were divided into 2 groups; the experimental-1 group for YouTube and the experimental-2 group for TikTok taught. Each of the groups consisted of 40 students. The instrument of the test was collected from observation, interviews, and vocabulary tests. The findings indicated that the YouTube application significantly affected the students' vocabulary achievement. 2) The TikTok application significantly affected the students' vocabulary achievement. 3) TikTok and YouTube significantly affected differences in the students' vocabulary achievement.
