Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop digital flashcard Baamboozle teaching
vocabulary at 7th grade SMP Muhammdiyah 1 medan. This study used the research
and development (R&D) phases of the modified six-step model (Borg, Gall, and
Gall 2003): Six R&D processes were used in the performance of this study: (1)
Information and data gathering, (2) need analysis, (3) media development, (4)expert
validation, (5)media revision, and (6)final product. Students from SMP
Muhammdiyah 1 Medan's seventh grade served as the study's subjects. In the
meantime, thirty regular class 7 students participated in the study. The data was
collected via a questionnaire. Information gathering from the respondents was the
aim of the questionnaire. The vocabulary media produced was examined and
reviewed by two the experth. An English lecturer from State University of Medan
and an English teacher from SMP Muhammdiyah 1 Medan. The average score of
the media validation was 94%, as per the findings of the experts' validation of the
digital flashcard Baamboozle for vocabulary instruction. Excellent criteria were
obtained by this medium from the validation. Data proved that using digital
flashcards for the Baamboozle learning process is more successful. Students at SMP
Muhammadiyah 1 Medan's 7th grade can use the media. Students can benefit from
this medium while they learn English, particularly vocabulary. It can be concluded
that teaching vocabulary to students in the classroom with digital flashcards offers
a number of advantages, including grabbing their interest and reducing vocabulary
learning boredom.
