Abstract
This study aimed to develop English materials for students at Alkhairiyah Islamic
Kindergarten Bangun based on Eclectic Approach. This study was conducted by
using Research and Development (R&D) method through six stages from Borg
and Gall (2003) such as gathering information and data, data analyzing, designing
materials, validating by experts, revising materials, and final product. The data
were collected by observation to get information about the school syllabus, and
English materials by questionnaire and conducting interviews with the teacher at
Alkhairiyah Islamic Kindergarten Bangun to get information about students'
needs. The product has been validated by two experts in percentage terms. The
experts reviewed the materials by the questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of
four aspects of materials evaluation. The percentage average score of experts'
validation was 84% for the language aspect, the content aspect was 88%, the
presentation aspect was 89%, and the layout was 82.5%. The percentage experts'
average score was 86.5%, which was classified as “Very Good”. This study
concluded that the English materials for students at Alkhairiyah Islamic
Kindergarten Bangun based on the Eclectic Approach can be used in the teaching
and learning process at Alkhairiyah Islamic Kindergarten.
