FLOUTING MAXIMS IN DEDDY CORBUZIER’S PODCAST

This thesis analyzes the types and the purpose of flouting maxim in Dedy
Corbuzier's podcast. This study uses Grice's theory to answer the problem and
uses qualitative descriptive methods to analyze the problems. There are 4 types of
maxim violations in Grice's theory, namely violations of the maxim of
quantity, maxim of quality, maxim of relevance and maxim of manner. The
data source is Dedy Corbuzier's Podcast on 4 video titles and 4 types of
maxim violations were found in them. The videos on the Dedy Corbuzier
Podcast are examined into different categories. The findings of this study is:
There are 15 violations found in Dedy Corbuzier’s podcast entitled Dari
Cincin Penis Hingga Mayat Tetangga, 6 violations on the podcast with the
title Cak Lontong, 20 violations on the podcast with the title 116 Triliun Artis-
Artis Dibungkam and 9 violations in the podcast with the title Kumpulan Orang-
Orang Munafik.
