Abstract
Textbook is considered as the primary resources in school. It played an important
role in educational programs, it still used dominantly in teaching learning process.
Therefore, every textbook should have been evaluated to be suitable to the
established curriculum and it is expected to be compatible with the curriculum and
students grade. This study is conducted to find out the readability level of report
texts in English Textbook entitled Lets Learn English for senior high school
students grade XII. This research will use qualitative descriptive design and the
data will be collected by using document study through students English
textbook. The main point of this research is collected the data onto descriptive
way. It describes the readability level of reading texts. The results show that the
readability of “Lets Learn English” for senior High School students grade XII is
quite high. Based on the result of reading ease formula, from fourteen reading
texts, nine (64.28%) reading texts are not suitable for twelfth grade students,
which consists of five (35.71%) reading texts considered as too easy and four
(28.57%) reading texts considered as too hard. They were only five (35.71%)
reading texts are suitable for eighth grade students.
