Abstract
This study is aimed to find out the challenges faced by English teachers and analyze English teachers’ ways in solving the challenges for classroom management in limited face-to-face learning conditions at MTs Negeri 2 Medan.
In this study, the researcher used the descriptive qualitative method and to collect the data researcher used observation and interviews. The findings showed that
there were three challenges that was faced by English teachers in managing their classroom in the speaking skill in the situation of limited face-to-face learning
namely less physical interaction, time management and unpredicted situation with students inappropriate behaviour. Furthermore, teachers’ ways in solving these challenges by many ways such as follow the new rules, maintain healthy
student-teacher interaction, keep students record and giving some advises and ask students for their inappropriate behaviour in the end of lesson.
