Abstract
This study aimed at developing students' worksheet of reading skill in narrative text based on Inquiry-Based Learning in SMA Taruna PBD Medan. Application of the
research and development (R&D) approach was used to carry out this investigation.Through the examination of the interview and questionnaire data, the sources of
information were gathered. Analyzing the data using existing content and a study of student needs. The data is evaluated to find a solution to the students' issues and
to create suitable reading materials in the form of worksheets for students based on their requirements. In order to determine the goal needs and the learning needs of
the Grade X students at SMA Taruna PBD Medan, a need analysis was carried out in 2019. In class X, 28 students participated in the survey. After performing a need
analysis, the worksheet was created using the 2013 curriculum's syllabus and the students' preferred learning needs and target needs. The worksheet's first draft was
composed after it had been designed. The four processes of inquiry-based learning, namely questioning, exploring, interpreting, and communicating, were used to create the worksheet. The worksheet was then approved by the professionals. The study's findings suggested that the worksheet designed for Grade X students at SMA Taruna PBD Medan was suitable for use with inquiry-based learning.
