ECOLITERACY STUDY OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN PEMATANG SIANTAR CITY AT ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024

This research is motivated by the importance of ecoliteracy for each individual. This research aims to determine the level of ecoliteracy ability and determine the differences in the ecoliteracy of senior high schools in Pematang Siantar city. The research was conducted in June to August 2023. The research was corried out at the Senior High School Student in Pematangsiantar city, namely SMA Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar, SMA Negeri 4 Pematang Siantar, and SMA Negeri 6 Pematang Siantar. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive research. The participants were 108 students, were taken using purposive sampling technique from students of grade XI. Data collection was carried out using observation, test, questionnaire and documentation. The knowledge of students on concept of environmental change was tested by 18 multiplechoice. The attitude of students was measured by New Ecological Paradigma (NEP) consisted of 15 items. The participation of students was measured by 18 statements about action on environment. The research results show that the ecoliteracy of Senior High School in Pematang Siantar city is 61.57 or medium category. The results of knowledge aspect showed that 58.8 or medium categorized. The attitude aspect was showed that 62.42 or medium categorized. The result of participation aspect was showed 61.43 or categorized medium. From research was showed there is a significant difference in ecoliteracy of Senior High School in Pematang Siantar city
