Abstract
This study was aimed at describing the application of the Scientific Approach in the
English classroom during pandemics. The object of this research were the two
teachers of grade tenth of Senior High School. The instrument of the data of this
research were interview research, video, and lesson plans. The researcher analyzed
the data to get information about how the teacher applied the Scientific Approach
in the classroom during pandemics. This study focused on two teachers that are
male and female teachers. After researchers conducted research, the results
obtained were that female and male teachers did not apply all stages of the Scientific
Approach completely. They only apply four stages, namely observing, questioning,
experimenting, and communicating. Whereas at the stage associating the two
teachers did not apply it in the class, because the teachers must comply with the
health protocol. And also their decision two limits the associating stage is because
of the pandemic situation, where every student are asked to apply social distancing
in the classroom. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Scientific Approach was
not completely applied in both classes
