Abstract
This research focuses on the study of students' creative thinking skills and creative thinking abilities of junior high school students on the material of life organization systems. Creative thinking ability is one of the important thinking skills for everyone, especially for students in relation to the learning process. This study aims to analyze the creative thinking abilities of junior high school students in every aspect of creative thinking abilities according to Meador (1997) and to determine students' perceptions of the creative thinking abilities of these students. Students' creative thinking ability consists of four indicators, namely fluency (thinking fluently), flexibility (thinking flexibly), originality (thinking skills), and elaboration (thinking in detail). This ability is measured by using the Creative Thinking Ability Test, in the form of a question description, while students' perceptions are seen through interviews with students. The results of the percentage of research indicate that in general the creative thinking ability of students is 62 which is in the good category. Originality has the largest average value (66), followed by fluency (64), flexibility (61), and elaboration (56). Positive responses were shown by students through their responses to the interviews given. Most students have a good perception of their creative thinking abilities.
