Abstract

This study aims to determine the student’s learning difficulties in virus material based on the cognitive process aspect, learning indicators, and the factors causing the learning difficulties. The research design is descriptive-quantitative and the sample was taken purposively (130 students). The student’s test result and questionnaires were used as data. The results showed that student’s learning difficulties were categorized very high in all cognitive process aspects (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, and C6 are 42,13%, 53,70%, 52.94%, 45.29%, 52.78%, and 51.04% respectively). The results showed that student’s learning difficulties were categorized very high in all learning indicators (Indicator 1, Indicator 2, Indicator 3, Indicator 4, Indicator 5, Indicator 6, and indicator 7 are 64.93%, 50.12%, 47.22%, 46.30%, 61.94%, 54.63%, and 26.39% respectively). Physical and psychological were the student’s internal factors and family, school, teacher, and subject matter itself were the external factors contribute to the learning difficulties in virus material.
