Abstract
The aims of this study is to analyze the use of song in teaching English . This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative design. The source of this data are the students of SD GenBi School Medan which consists of 18 students. To collect the data, elicitation technique was used in this study. To elicit the teacher ways and the reason for her ways of used song in teaching English will be presented to the students. There are three concurrent flows of action to analyze the data, they are data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/ verification. After analyzing the data, the researcher found that the teacher used songs to train the students pronunciation which done by having the students listening, reading and individually or classically sing all the lyrics of the song. And for the reasons why teacher uses the song the way she does because she taught that building the students self confident and brave is one prerequisite for learning pronunciation experiencing it. Providing fun is also one the reason for making them learn vocabulary through experience.
