THE USE OF GIVE ONE-TAKE ONE TECHNIQUE IN TEACHING WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT FOR THE EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMPN 8 PERCUT SEI TUAN

This study aims to find out the use of Give One-Take One technique in teaching writing descriptive text for the eighth grade students of SMPN 8 Percut Sei Tuan in the academic year 2019/2020. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative research. The data of this study were collected by using observation, interview, and recording to the process of Give One-Take One technique in teaching writing descriptive text and students’ writing test as supported data. From the result of observation, interview and students’ writing descriptive text for the eighth grade students of SMPN 8 Percut Sei Tuan were found that the the teacher used Give One-Take One teachnique by implementing recommended steps. According to the teacher, the reason for using Give One-Take One technique because the teachnique was appropriate and effective. The teacher’s performance in teaching writing descriptive by using Give One-Take One technique was categorized as good. It can be proven in observation and interview result that the teacher followed all the steps well.
