Abstract

This Research aims to know the increased of students’ forward roll achievement by using the implementation of problem based learning through scientific approach in grade X SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Utara of A.Y. 2017/1018. The research method is Classroom Action Research and the subject is class X-MIA 2 that amount 36 students, there are 20 male students and there are 16 female students. To get the data from this research so that conducted the test of learning achievement Cycle I by the movements of forward roll and then proceed with the test in Cycle II.
The result of the research concludes: (1) from the result of learning test in Cycle I, there are 20 students (55,56%) who have reached the learning comprehensiveness level, while 16 students (44,44%) have not reached learning completeness level. With average score of learning result after converted are 69.18. However, it has not met the expected classical completeness criteria that are 85%. (2) From the result of learning Cycle II, there are 32 students (88,89%) who have reached completeness in learning and 4 students (11,11%) still not complete. with the mean value of learning result after converted is 85,79. In this case it can be seen that there is a process improvement of the average value of learning outcomes from Cycle I to Cycle II. (3) Based on the results of Cycle I and Cycle II the increased of students’ forward roll achievement is 33.33%. (4) Based on the Wilxocon Matched Pairs test there is difference of students’ forward roll achievement of class X-MIA 2 in Cycle I and Cycle II with note value of Asym. Sig. (2-tailed) value 0.000 < 0.05.
Based on the results of data analysis can be said that through the implementation of problem-based learning model and scientific approach can increase students’ forward roll achievement in grade X SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Utara T.A 2017/2018.
