Abstract

This research deal with Teachers ’ Feedback on Motivating and Learning
Attitude towards Students’ Writing achievement. The objectives of the study
were (1) to describe the types of feedback given by the teacher in the English
class. (2) to elucidate how the students’motivation and learning attitude realized
towards writing achievement in the English class. (3) to reveal the reason why the
students motivation and learning attitude are realized in the ways they are. The
data in this study were the text of narrative class writing given by two teachers of
the nine grader students in writing class in private the boarding school
Amiruddiniyah Rantau Prapat. The feedback was transcribed in order to be
analyzed. From the data analysis and findings it is found that direct and indirect
feedback were type feedback provided differently toward two teachers in teaching
writing class. The dominantly process of giving feedback are praising-indirect
feedback and the process of students motivation and learning attitude was done
for types intrinsicly, extrinsicly, positively and negatively but the dominantly
used are intrinsic motivation and positive attitude and the reason are used
intensity, teacher who use indirect feedback is higher than direct feedback
