Abstract
This study aims to find out whether there is an influence of counseling group oncognitive cognitive restructuring techniques on interpersonal communication anxiety reduction in eighth grade students of Bina Agung Medan junior high school T.A 2018/2019. This research was carried out from August to October 2018. This type of research was quasi-experimental with one group pre-test post-test design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII-1. Samples were drawn using a
purposive sampling method as many as 8 people from class VIII-1. The data of this study were collected by using an anxiety questionnaire for interpersonal communication students totaling 36 items that have been valid and reliable. Then the data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test to see whether there was a significant effect of providing counseling services on the group of cognitive
restructuring techniques to reduce anxiety of students' interpersonal communication. This can be seen from the results of Wilcoxon test which shows that the Wilcoxon level test results obtained by calculation with the initial test score (pre-test) in the experimental group obtained an average score of 114.75 while the score (post-test) obtained an average of 81, 5, meaning that the influence of the provision of counseling services is a more significant group of cognitive restructuring techniques (81.5 <114.75). This means that the hypothesis
that reads is the Counseling Effect of Cognitive Restructuring Technique Groups on Interpersonal Communication Anxiety Reduction in Class VIII Students of
Bina Agung Medan Junior High School T.A 2018/2019 is acceptable.
