Abstract

The problem in this study is the low accounting learning outcomes of class X JAMBI Private Vocational School Medan. This study aims to determine the increase in accounting activities and learning outcomes taught with Problem Based Instruction Learning Model with Constructivism Approach in Class X AK SMK Swasta JAMBI Medan T.P 2018/2019. This research was conducted at the JAMBI Private Vocational School in Medan in the 2018/2019 school year. The subject of this research is the class X AK SMK Swasta JAMBI Medan amounting to 28 people and the object of this research is the application of the Problem Based Instruction learning model with a constructivism approach. This type of research is classroom action research consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques are through observation and tests. The data analysis technique used is through a table of assessment of creativity and absorption. The results of the study showed that in the first cycle the percentage of student activity in class X was 53.57% which meant that it had not yet reached the active criteria. While in the second cycle the percentage of activities reached 92.86%, which means that it was already in a very active category and had reached active criteria. Learning outcomes in the pre test or before the action of students who get a score above the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) or obtain a value of ≥ 75 are 6 students (21.43%), in the post test the first cycle has increased to 18 students (64 , 29%), and in the post test II cycle as many as 23 students (82.14%). An increase of 17.85% from cycle I to cycle II. Thus it can be concluded that there is an increase in accounting activities and learning outcomes taught with Problem Based Instruction Learning Model with Constructivism Approach in class X AK SMK Swasta JAMBI Medan T.P 2018/2018.
