Abstract

The aims of this study is to know: (1) the differences student learning outcomes in cooperative learning (STAD type and Jigsaw type) with expository learning using computer media, (2) the impact of student motivation to learn the results of chemistry students, (3) the interaction between the model of cooperative learning (STAD and Jigsaw type ) uses a computer with the media in influencing motivation to learn chemistry student learning outcomes. The study was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Susu Langkat, using the experimental method with 2 x 3 factorial design and a sample of 80 students taken using cluster random sampling. The research instrument in the form of the test result of learning and students learning motivation questionnaire. Validation test using product moment correlation formula and of the 30 items tested about which there were 21 questions about a valid point. Test reliability using Kuder Richardson (KR-20) method. Test requirements analysis using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normality and to test sample homogeneity using Levene test. Analysis using the General Linear Model (GLM) univariate. Results of hypothesis testing indicate that: (1) there is a different learning cooperative (type STAD and Jigsaw type) with expository learning using computer media on the results of chemistry students learning, (2) there are significant levels of student motivation to learn chemistry students results. Differences in learning outcomes of cooperative learning with expository teaching and learning motivation influence on the results of this study indicated the significant probability value (p) 0.000 < (0.05). (3) There is no interaction between the model of cooperative learning (STAD and Jigsaw type) using a computer with the media in influencing motivation to learn chemistry student learning outcomes. Results of other studies indicate that an increase in student learning outcomes in cooperative learning Jigsaw type than type STAD cooperative learning. The implications of this research is the application of cooperative learning model using computer media to increase the student learning outcomes. Thus, the results of this study is expected to become inputs for chemistry teachers in learning to use media and learning model in accordance with the characteristics of students and topics that will be taught.
