Abstract
The main objective in this research is to know the influence of think pair share learning model integrated with scientific approach to increase student’s learning outcome and teamwork . the other objective in this research is to know the average percentage of student’s teamwork character can be developed by applying think pair share learning model. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 17 Medan on the Second Semester. The sample that use in this research are students in grade X in two classes, one class as control class and the other as experimental class. The research instrument that uses in this research consist of test instrument (evaluation test) and non test instrument (observation sheet). The instrument that used in this research had been tested based on validity and reliability. Based on validity, from 40 questions, there are 23 questions are valid and rcount for reliability test is 1.043. It means that the questions are reliable with high categories. From the research result, the average of posttest in experimental class is 80.641 ± 6.089 with gain 0.686 (Medium) and the average of posttest in control class is 69.404 ± 7.060 with gain 0.500 (Medium) . The data of this research had been analyzed by using normality and homogeneity test, which is shown that gain data are normal distributed and homogeny. It is requirement to do hypothesis test. Based on the hypothesis test using t-test was gotten value of sign.count(0.00) < significance level (0.05) in other that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It means that the student’s learning outcome who taught by think pair share learning model is significant higher than the student’s learning outcome that taught by direct instruction method. The percentage of student’s teamwork from observation sheet data were developed from first meeting up to third meeting. The percentage of development of student’s teamwork character is 65.53%.
