Abstract
This research was conducted at SMAN 6 Medan. This study is a quasiexperimental study. The samples in this study were taken at random in which 25students of class X-4 as a class experiment by applying collaborative learningmodel STAD with Card Sort and 31 students of class X-2 as a control class byapplying conventional models.One Way Anova test results of learning motivation variables known that theSig 0.258 > 0.05; this means that Ho accepted and Ha is rejected so that we canconclude there is no difference in student motivation before and after applicationof collaborative and cooperative learning model STAD and Card Sort withstudents motivation before and after application of the conventional model. Whilethe results of Kruskal Wallis test for learning outcome variables known that thelearning outcomes Asymp Sig 0.000 < 0.05 value; this means that Ho is rejectedand Ha accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a difference in studentlearning outcomes before and after application of collaborative and cooperativelearning model STAD Card Sort with student learning outcomes before and afterapplication of the conventional model where the average pre-test experimentalclass is 34,22 and the average post-test experimental class was 73,48 while theaverage pre-test control class is 48,30 and the average post-test control class is76,36. Suggestions relating to the results of the study were the next researcher toresearch application collaboration cooperative learning model STAD and CardSort with Class Action Research Design.
