Abstract

The objective of this study was to find out how the use of video can improve students'
ability in writing procedure texts for class X heavy equipment class X SMKN 1 Lubuk
Pakam, using appropriate learning images and short videos. The method used is the type
of CAR (Classroom Action Research). The steps used in this study were two-cycle PTK.
The subjects of this study were 20 students of class X Heavy Equipment. Based on the
results of the study, it can be said that: (2) the average score that the students obtained in
the first cycle was 58 or in the sufficient category, in the second cycle II it increased to 90
in the very good category. Thus, it can be said that writing procedural texts using video can
improve the writing skills of grade X Heavy Equipment students at SMK Negeri 1 Lubuk
Pakam
