Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil pengembangan bahan ajar menulis teks esksposisi berbasis metode terbalik (reciprocal teaching) pada siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Kisaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R & D) yang dikemukakan oleh Sugiyono merujuk pada model Borg & Gall. Subjek uji coba terdiri dari 3 siswa dengan uji coba perorangan, 9 siswa dengan uji coba kelompok kecil, dan 36 siswa dengan uji coba lapangan terbatas. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, angket dan tes menulis teks eksposisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) validasi ahli materi meliputi kelayakan isi dengan rata-rata 83,59% pada kriteria sangat baik, kelayakan penyajian dengan rata-rata 87,5% pada kriteria sangat baik, dan aspek bahasa dengan rata-rata 86,53% pada kriteria sangat baik, (2) validasi ahli desain dengan rata-rata 94,16% pada kriteria sangat baik, (3) respon guru dengan rata-rata 92,64% pada kriteria sangat baik, (4) uji coba perorangan dengan rata-rata 78,47% pada kriteria baik, (5) uji coba kelompok kecil dengan rata-rata 84,72% pada kriteria sangat baik, dan (6) uji lapangan terbatas dengan rata-rata 88,02% pada kriteria sangat baik. Hasil belajar tes menulis teks eksposisi siswa sebelum menggunakan modul sebesar 70, sedangkan hasil belajar tes menulis teks eksposisi siswa sesudah menggunakan modul meningkat sebesar 84,72. Selisih yang diperoleh sebesar 14,72 dari sebelum ke sesudah. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa bahan ajar menulis teks eksposisi yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan metode terbalik (reciprocal teaching). Implikasi penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan sumbangan praktis terutama dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran bagi guru sebagai bahan ajar tambahan dan sebagai sarana yang membantu dan memudahkan siswa dalam memahami materi teks eksposisi sehingga dapat diaplikasikan pada kehidupan masing-masing
