Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional pada materi luas bangun datar di kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Bakongan Aceh Selatan T.A 2014/2015. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen.Dalam penelitian ini populasi yang diambil adalah seluruh Kelas VII SMP N 1 Bakongan sebanyak 4 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak dan banyak sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas, yaitu kelas VII-2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan Kelas VII-3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Jumlah masing-masing siswa setiap kelas adalah sebanyak 31 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa, yang terdiri dari 4 butir soal uraian. Sebelum tes digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah, keempat butir tes tersebut diuji validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran dan daya beda soal. Tes diberikan setelah perlakuan pembelajaran kepada kedua kelas, yaitu setelah kelas eksperimen diajar dengan model Problem Based Learning dan kelas kontrol diajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional.Dari hasil pengolahan data diperoleh rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa pada kelas eksperimen adalah 76,5, dan pada kelas kontrol adalah 67. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis. Uji normalitas dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan uji Liliefors dengan α = 0,05, Ltabel = 0,159130 dan diperoleh L0 = 0,0693 kelas ekperimen dan L0 = 0,1222 untuk kelas kontrol. Artinya, L0 < Ltabel. Sehingga disimpulkan bahwa data kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berdistribusi normal. Uji homogenitas diperoleh =1,1188 dan =1,84 yang berarti < , yang artinya kedua sampel berasal dari populasi yang homogen. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis yang dilakukan yaitu dengan menggunakan uji t dengan α = 0,05 diperoleh thitung (5, ,61091) > ttabel (1,67). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa thitung berada diluar penerimaan H0, maka berdasarkan pengujian tersebut diperoleh bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Sehingga dapat dinyatakan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional pada materi luas bangun datar di kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Bakongan Aceh Selatan T.A 2014/2015.
