PEMBELAJARAN YANG DIAWALI DENGAN PEMBERIAN SOAL CERITA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA DAN SIKAP TERHADAP MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS V-A SDN 004 RUMBAI PEKANBARU

This research aims at analyzing the learning of Mathematics which starts with giving story-based questions at one of the elementary schools in Pekanbaru. The writer looks at the teacher’ ability to motivate students and teach Mathematics which startes with giving story-based questions and to see the improvement of students’ achievement motivation as well as the students’ attitude towards Mathematics. The design used is Classroom Action Research which is conducted in three cycles. This classroom action research is done collaboratively with one Mathematics teacher. The subjects of the research are 21 grade five students (ranged from 10 – 11 years old). The data are collected through observations and questionnaire. The results of the research shows that (1) The research results show that can increase student mathematics achievement, (2) There is a difference in attitude toward Mathematics before and after the learning of Mathematics through story-based questions.
