Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of the discovery learning model assisted by PhET simulation on students’ learning outcomes. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with two-group pretest-posttest approach. The experimental group was taught using thediscovery learning model assisted by PhET simulation, while the control group was taught through the direct instruction model. The results showed that the average pretest and posttestscores of the control group were 37.16 and 77.5 respectively, with an average increase of 40.34, categorized as fair. Meanwhile, the experimental group obtained average pretest and posttest scores of 45.88 and 91.3, respectively with an average increase of 45.42, categorized as very good. Statistical analysis revealed a significant effect with an effect size of 5.08, indicatingthat the discovery learning model assisted by PhET simulation had a trong effect on students’ learning outcomes.
