Abstract
This study aims to develop a reading E-Worksheet on narrative text for Grade IX
students at SMP Negeri 21 Medan. Data consisted of an analysis of students' needs,
interests, and challenges in using Liveworksheet as narrative reading E-worksheet,
sourced from 32 ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 21 Medan. Techniques for
collecting data included distributing questionnaires and documents. Instruments used
were questionnaires and documents. This study involved six key stages of Borg and
Gall method, which included: gathering data and information, analyzing the data,
designing the product, expert validation, revising and finalizing the product. The
result of gathering and analyzing data. The learning process students need better
learning E-woeksheet. This data identified students‘ necessity (56,2%), the students
had a lack in mastering reading skill. This data identified students’ lacks (40,62%)
and the acrtivity that students want in doing assignment is read on E-worksheet. This
data identified students’ wants (53,13%) for an interactive E-worksheet, engaging Eworksheet
to improve reading understanding. The material designing and revising
stage resulted in the Liveworksheet Web. The expert validation involved a lecturer
and a teacher, was 98%, and 100%, achieving an "Very Good" category. Based on
the high validation scores from the experts, it can be concluded that the final product,
the Liveworksheet Web, is a highly appropriate and effective students' narrative
reading E-worksheet tailored to the specific needs of students at SMP Negeri 21
Medan.
