Abstract
This research aims to investigate students’ perceptions of using YouTube videos in
learning narrative texts at SMAS HKBP Sidorame based on Robbin and Judge
theory (2013). The research employed a descriptive qualitative design which
combined the data from questionnaires (n=27) and interviews (n=7) to analyze
students' experiences. The results of this study showed that students have positive
and negative perceptions of YouTube videos as an interactive learning media in
reading comprehension during the learning process. Based on students'
perceptions, using YouTube videos is more effective, because it attracts students
in the learning and teaching process and students also feel happy and more active
when learning.
