Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the types of validity found in the descriptive text rubric assessment for senior high school English teachers . Errors are analyzed to find the dominant aspect of rubrics., and the validity of rubric assessment in descriptive text. This study used descriptive research and development model. The object of this research is the 11th grade students at SMA Era Utama Pancurbatu. From the findings in the field, the writer finds that there are 5 aspects included in the rubric. namely: content, organization of information, grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics then the researcher studied and concluded. Each aspect is given a weight such as content: 30%, organization of information: 20%, grammar: 20%, vocabulary: 15%, and mechanics: 15%. The interrupters’s evaluation indicate that the rubric created attains its content validity and can be used as a standard of assessment for a descriptive text.
