Abstract

Students' worksheet as one of learning tools that is used to involve the students to work actively during teaching and learning process should be developed based on the students' need. This research will be conducted using the Research and Development (R & D) method which is based on the Borg and Gall Research and Development technique which consists of six stages, namely collecting information and data, analyzing data, designing materials, validating by experts,
revising materials, and the last is the final product. This research was conducted at Gajah Mada Junior High School in Medan. The objective of this study was to develop a student worksheet suitable for eighth grade students to assess students' reading comprehension on recount text material by using Kahoot. Data was collected through distributing questionnaires to 30 eighth grade students to find
out students' needs and interviews with an English teacher. The conclusion of this study is the development of Kahoot! platform that can be used as a student worksheet to practice reading comprehension of recount text. There are four
aspects assessed by the two validators for the feasibility test of student worksheets by experts, namely content aspects, presentation aspects, language aspects, and
layout aspects. In percentage form, the content aspect is 96%, the presentation aspect is 94%, the language aspect is 100%, and the layout is 95%. The average score of the worksheet is 96.3% which is categorized as very good and
recommended to be used in English classes especially for reading eighth grade recount texts.
