Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop interactive Liveworksheets.com for teaching writing descriptive text of seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Tebing Tinggi.This study was conducted using Research and Development (R&D) design from Borg and Gall (2003) under six stages ; 1) Gathering information and data, 2) Analyzing the data , 3) Developing the interactive worksheet, 4) Validating by
experts, 5) Revising based on the validation, and 6) Final product. The subjects of this study were seventh grade students and 1 English teacher of SMP Negeri 2 Tebing Tinggi. The data were gathered by documenting the syllabus,
administering need analysis questionnaire to 29 students,and interviewing the English teacher. The result of data gathered showed the need to improve the currently existing worksheet that can attract student interest and motivate them in learning. The overall result of the validation by two experts which used validation sheet that include linguistic, process, product and content, and layout aspect was 94,9%, which categorized as “Very Good”. This result means that the worksheets were appropriate and suitable to use for teaching writing descriptive text of seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Tebing Tinggi.
