Abstract
Teacher feedback on improving students' writing skills should be evaluated, especially when writing narrative texts. To examine how the application of feedback by English teachers at SMA N 7 Medan, especially in grade X, improves students' writing skills. To evaluate whether the application of feedback has gone through the ideal stages to improve students' writing skills. To identify the impact of various types of feedback teachers use on students' writing skills. English teachers as subjects observed their application of feedback on learning to write narrative texts. In this study, a descriptive qualitative method will be used to answer the proposed research problems, where the data is in the form of teacher feedback on students'writing. Data will be collected and analyzed by drawing conclusions based on data analysis. The study of things in their natural environment to understand or interpret phenomena in terms of the meanings people give to them is known as qualitative research. Teacher feedback is critical in improving students' writing skills, especially in narrative texts. Teachers apply five stages of implementing structured feedback, from planning to evaluation. The two types of feedback used, namely corrective feedback and direct feedback, have proven effective in helping students correct technical errors and improve their writing skills. This feedback also increases students' motivation in the learning process. Teacher feedback is critical in improving
students' writing skills, especially in narrative texts. English teachers use a structured approach in providing feedback, following five stages to understand students'needs and improve learning. The two main types of feedback provided, namely corrective feedback and direct feedback, are effective in helping students correct technical errors and improve the quality of their narratives. Both work together to develop students' writing skills comprehensively.
