Abstract
The aim of this study develop mobile application Speak It Right as an English
Teaching media on speaking invitation text for the eight students at SMPN 27
Medan. This study conduct. by employing Research and Development (R&D)
design in six stages: data and information gathering, data analysis, media design,
expert validation, revising, and final product. The study focused on grade VIII
students at SMPN 27 Medan. The data was gathered by interviewing an English
teacher and distributing a questionnaire to 33 students in order to determine the
students' needs. The results of the interview and questionnaire demonstrated that
students require a learning media in teaching speaking that can assist students in
understanding the narrative text. Experts validated the Speak It Right learning
media. The overall average is 4.14. It means that the learning media created with
Speak It Right is relevant or appropriate and is categorized as a very good
learning media for students at SMP Negei 27 Medan
