HEDONISM OF FREDDIE MERCURY IN MOVIE BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY (2018): A HISTORICAL-BIOGRAPHICAL APPROACH

Hedonism of Freddie Mercury in Movie Bohemian Rhapsody 2018) : A Historical & Biographical Approach is a thesis which is to fulfill one of the requirements to achieve the title of Sarjana Sastra (Bachelor of Literature). Questions revealed on this thesis are ―What are the types and each of types of
classifications of hedonism of Freddie Mercury performed in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)?‖ and ―how are hedonism acts portrayed by Freddie Mercury in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)?‖. The purposes of this research are to find
out types and each of types‘ and classifications of hedonism and how they are done in movie Bohemian Rhapsody (2018). In identifying his hedonism, the writer used Sober & Wilson‘s psychological hedonism and Lillie‘s ethical hedonism. For
analyzing the data the writer used qualitative research method. The results of this research show that Freddie Mercury‘s hedonism were found to be categorized as
inferential, reinforced, egoistic and universal. Freddie Mercury‘s hedonism most dominant position was on egoistic hedonism having 37.5% of total findings while universal hedonism was the least dominant having only 12.5% total findings.
