Abstract
The purpose of this research was to develop interactive worksheet for teaching reading recount text to tenth grade students at MAN 2 Model Medan. This research followed the Branch (2009) Research and Development (R&D) design,
which consisted of five phases: Analysis. Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, this research was restricted to the development phase.
The subjects of this research were 35 grade X students and one English teacher from MAN 2 Model Medan. Data were collected by documenting the teaching module and textbook, interviewing the English teacher, and administering a
questionnaire to the students to determine their needs. The data collected revealed the need to convert the existing worksheet into an interactive worksheet in order to attract students' interest and motivate them to learn. The total validation evaluated by experts using a validation sheet that included linguistic, process, product and content, layout, and technological aspects was 87.6%. With a few
revisions, the developed interactive worksheet was acceptable and feasible for use in learning.
