The Use of Line Application as A Learning Media for Students’ Speaking Skill at VIII Grade SMP Negeri 3 PercutSei Tuan

The research effort is to examine Line application as a learning media for students' speaking skills at VIII Grade SMP Negeri 3 Percut Sei Tuan. This research was conducted using qualitative research. In this study researcher used data collection techniques by: observation, interviews, and recording (results of observations, interviews, and
documentation carried out). The research subjects were class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Percut Sei Tuan. Manage interviews to English teachers and students. Then distributed questionnaires to 30 respondents to find out students' needs which were collected as data. The results of interviews and questionnaires stated that students need the Line application as a medium for learning speaking skills which can help improve their skills and make it easier for students to understand vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and increase the tenses used, as well as maximize the use of their devices to access Line. The results of the research show that the online application is very effective and easy in improving students' speaking skills
