Abstract

This research is research into the development of scientific literacy-based teaching materials on the topic of human coordination systems. This research aims to determine the suitability of teaching materials based on validity, practicality and effectiveness. The research was conducted at SMAN 3 Tarutung with a small group sample of 6 people and a limited group of 36 people. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4D development model. The development stages carried out in making this module include Define, Design, and Development. The results of this research show: (1) The level of suitability of the material by material experts with a percentage of 83% in the ‶Very Appropriate ″ category, (2) The level of suitability of the material by learning design experts with a percentage of 95% in the ‶Very Appropriate ″ category, (3) The level of suitability of the material by layout experts with a percentage of 94% in the category ‶Very Appropriate″, (4) Level of appropriateness of material by subject teachers with a percentage of 91% in the category ‶Very Appropriate″ and (5) Level of appropriateness of material by small groups with a percentage of 88% in the category ‶Very Appropriate ″ and a limited group with a percentage of 89% in the ‶Very Appropriate ″ category. So it can be concluded that the product of developing biological teaching materials based on scientific literacy on human coordination system material for class XI Science is suitable to be used as a source of additional teaching material for class.
