Abstract
The teaching materials developed are a development of previous teaching materials. Researchers open materials in the form of interactive E-books that can be used by all Laptop, Android and IOS devices. This research aims to develop a feasible, effective and practical E-book to improve the scientific literacy skills of class VII students on environmental pollution material. The research method used is R&D with the ADDIE branch research model. The subjects in this research were students in grades VII-1 and VII-3 taken from SMP Swasta RK Serdang Murni Lubuk Pakam . Samples were taken by purposive sampling. The instruments used are tests (cognitive tests) that have been validated by experts and non-tests (in the form of questionnaires and interviews). Test instruments were given to 60 students and assessment questionnaires were given to 6 experts (2 media experts, material and language experts), 3 students in one-on-one evaluation, 15 students in small group evaluation, 30 students in small group evaluation, 30 students in small group evaluation, and 30 students in small group evaluation. field test, and 30 students at the time of implementation, and two science teachers. The results of the research show that the media aspect received a CVI score of 0.83, the material aspect had a CVI score of 0.81, and the language aspect had a CVI score of 0.81, so it was stated that the value of SETS-based E-Books was appropriate and effective in assisting the learning process and increasing scientific literacy skills, 83.33% with a standard deviation score of 6,9 of students obtained a KKM score and an average N-Gain of 0.72 (High). In addition, 85.6% of SETS-based E-books were stated to be very practical and 87.5% were very effective for teachers and students to use in learning inside and outside the classroom.
